Thrifty Thursday- Does Loving Animal Print Make Me A 'Cougar"?

I feel like the moment I turned 30, I was uneasy about wearing animal print. I worried that I would be called a "Cougar".

Insert eye roll here.

What I have come to realize is, I couldn't care less if anyone thinks I'm something that I'm not. Or, if I am a so-called "Cougar" (my last 2 serious relationships were with men that were 6 and 7.5 years younger than me), so be it.

I thrifted this dress for a friend's birthday night out. Did I worry that I might be perceived in a certain way? Not really at all.

I guess that freedom just comes with age.

Here is my favourite Leopard Print dress- because...POCKETS!!! Also, I just feel great in this dress.

Dress- $14.99 Talize
Black Pumps- $9.99 Talize

Here I made this dress a little more daytime- wearable by pulling a black pencil skirt over top.

Black Pencil Skirt- $7.99 Value Village

And now, here's a look for Fall!
One dress- 3 looks!

Knee-high Boots: $14.99 Value Village

Thrifty Thursday- One Maxi Skirt Worn 3 Ways

Who doesn't love an item that performs double, or even triple-duty!?

I thrifted this black maxi skirt years ago when I basically LIVED in maxi skirts everyday.

Many of my maxi skirts have left my closet, but I hold onto this one because it goes with anything.

Today I wanted to show you that you have different options with one simple skirt.

Here it is with a simple black tank:

Skirt: $7.99 Value Village
Tank: $4.99 Talize
Necklace: Stella and Dot
Bracelet: Hawk and Sparrow
Gladiator Sandals: $9.99 Value Village

Here I just topped it off with a light kimono.

Kimono- $20 handmade from Thimbles, Needles and Yarn

Then, I wanted to show you how I wear this skirt also as a midi dress:

I simply pull it up over my bust to give it a whole new look.

Same skirt, sandals ad jewelry, whole different outfit.

Add a belt to define the waist.

Belt: $4.99 Talize

Or a jean jacket for a casual night out.

Jean Jacket: $12.99 Value Village

And finally, how I make it into a third dress. I simply pull it up higher, and fold over the waistband:

Again, same skirt, same jewelry, but different shoes. WHOLE new outfit!

Black Pumps: $9.99 Talize

You can add a blazer to dress it up a bit. I got this one as a cast-off from a friend for free!

Or just add a belt again to define your waist!

And here I just knotted a plaid shirt at my waist. Cute for date night! Again, cast-off from a friend, so FREE!

Thanks so much for reading!

Happy Thursday!

Thrifty Thursday- 2 Weeks, 2 Rompers

I'm not sure if it's because of my love of rompers, or because I love supporting local business owners- or maybe a combination of both...

But when this romper was posted by Shannon of Stylist at Sidenote- I had to have it as well!I may have an addiction.

This romper is SO comfy, it's just like wearing pj's in public!!

My newest romper:

Here I paired it with Nude Pumps and a light Straw Hat.

Pumps: $7.99 Talize

Silver Cuff Bracelet: Hawk and Sparro
Hat- I bought this 2 pack on Amazon while stores were still closed.

Here I paired the romper with flats and a darker straw hat.

Romper- $28 from Sidenote

Sandals- Thrifted long ago

Hat: 2 pack from Amazon (before stores were opened)

With this shoe choice, I chose to cuff the bottom, and I really love it like this, as well!

Shoes: $9.99 Value Village

Sunglasses: $10 at, you guessed it, Sidenote.

Thanks for reading this week's "Thrifty Thursday"!

Let me know if you have an addiction to rompers as well! Maybe we can start a support group!
